2016 International Symposium: Disability in the SDGs - 18 & 19 February

On Thursday 18th and Friday 19th February 2016, Disability in the SDGs: forming alliances and building evidence for the 2030 agenda will be hosted by the International Centre for Evidence in Disability (ICED), together with CBM, Sightsavers, the International Committee of the Red Cross and Handicap International.

The two-day symposium seeks to bring together researchers, activists and practitioners to discuss new research findings and debate academic and policy issues related to Global Disability, Health and Development. The SDG framework features disability far more than its MDG predecessors, which were silent on disability concerns. This is an opportunity for interested parties to get involved in forming alliances and raising awareness around issues of disability and development in the 2030 agenda, including the promotion of best practices and evidence which can be shared with the development community.

The event, will include the following topics:

  • Evidence on Inclusive Development and Universal Access
  • Measuring Disability Inclusion
  • Evidence of Best Practice in Disability Programmes
