Nepal's social protection system: something to be proud of!

Development Pathways’ social policy specialist Rasmus Schjoedt and Nepali researcher Subindra Bogati writes about Nepal’s social protection system in the Kathmandu Post. They argue that Nepal should be very proud of its universal social protection system, which provides much better coverage than much larger and wealthier countries in the region, including India and Indonesia. However, there is an urgent need to improve access to the disability benefit, which leaves out as many as 9 out 10 of people in need of support.
