Ethiopia End Child Marriage Programme (ECMP)

The DFID funded 'End Child Marriage Programme' (ECMP) in Ethiopia aims to support the Government to end child marriage for at least 200,000 adolescent girls in East and West Gojam zones of the Amhara region. Development Pathways led on developing the theory of change for the programme and provided the technical lead on social protection, gender and child policies.

Review of Targeting in the Orphans and Vulnerable Children Cash Transfer

Development Pathways was contracted by DFID to undertake a multi-method research review of targeting in the 'Orphans and Vulnerable Children Cash Transfer' (CT-OVC). As well as using participatory research methods, It included an assessment of the theoretical accuracy of the proxy means test methodology against the household survey data and a review of the management information system.

Social Protection Policy and Reform Programme

Development Pathways was contracted to advise DFID on the development of the Strategic and Appraisal cases for the 'Social Protection Policy and Reform Programme' in Bangladesh. The business cases supported the building of a Social Protection Unit within the Government of Bangladesh, and build on previous work undertaken by Development Pathways.

The Social Safety Net for Families with children

Development Pathways led a consortium (with Oxford Policy Management) to provide support to UNICEF's 'Social Safety Net for Families with Children Programme' in Uzbekistan. Development Pathways provided capacity building for UNICEF and relevant stakeholders; conducted mapping and analysis of social protection in Uzbekistan and developed a range of high level policy papers for advocacy purposes.

3ie Social Protection Review

Development Pathways was contracted by Triple Line to undertake a process evaluation of the 'International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie)' for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Development Pathways provided a specialist adviser to undertake a review of 3ie’s social protection portfolio and provide an assessment of the extent to which it will make a useful contribution to knowledge on social protection in development, and its relevance for policy and practice in the sector.
