The Global Campaign for The Right to Social Security will host a parallel event at the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). Titled ‘Unlocking Gender Equality: The Power of Universal Social Security Programs,’ the event will underscore the crucial role of universal and individual social security initiatives in advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls.
In contrast to means-tested or poverty-targeted programmes, the session will highlight the flaws inherent in such approaches. Instead, it will advocate for the adoption of universal and individual social security programs as catalysts for gender equality and women’s empowerment.
