Situation and access to services of persons with disability in Addis Ababa

We worked with UNICEF on this briefing note on the situation of people with disabilities in Addis Ababa. This brief was drawn from the full study report ‘Situation and Access to Services of Persons with Disabilities in Addis Ababa’.

Disability-inclusive policies are slowly but surely gaining traction in Ethiopia: from ratifying the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in 2010, to, more recently, calling for the expansion of services available to people with disabilities in the National Social Protection Policy.

The briefing note provides recommendations on how to strengthen efforts to implement the existing legal and policy frameworks for inclusion of people with disabilities and to address service delivery gaps.
