Development Pathways successfully designed and delivered an innovative social transfers training course that used a range of learning methodologies. The course focused on practical design and implementation issues within Uganda’s specific country context and introduced participants to the most relevant discussions and debates facing developing countries today. Guest speakers at the course, which ran in 2011, including Albert Biwa, Deputy Director of Social Welfare in the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Namibia) and Stephen Barrett SAGE (Social Assistance Grants for Empowerment) Programme manager, shared their experiences designing and implementing social transfer programmes.
