A new pilot cash transfer for children in Angola required an MIS for a successful launch.
As part of the design and implementation of pilot cash transfer for the Government of Angola, we developed an MIS linked to efforts to establish an institutional MIS and Single Registry. The MIS underpinned the administration and monitoring of the scheme and was accompanied by a manual of operations for the MIS, security protocols and a policy on the management of data.
We built the MIS to be web-based but also have the capability to operate at district level. It incorporated modules for: registration, enrolment, payments, grievances and exit. Additionally, it provided regular monitoring reports and advised programme implementers on when tasks should be undertaken.
Pilot cash transfer programmes typically undergo design enhancements, and so the MIS was then maintained and upgraded in line with changes in operations after its implementation.
